The developer in a further tweet said that it's working hard on getting IOI accounts back online and asks players to keep an eye on the IOI Twitter page instead of refreshing its website. IO Interactive has acknowledged these issues in a tweet (thanks, VGC) saying that everyone is trying to play Hitman 3 at once. If you were to go through and start playing the game, your unlocks and Mastery Level progress would be deleted in Hitman 3 when you imported your gear and progression from Hitman 2. The issue that's stopping players from immediately jumping into Agent 47's latest outing is that the progression carryover process will wipe existing progress in Hitman 3. However, players are reporting that they either can not log in to their IOI accounts, or access the transfer website, leaving them unable to play Hitman 3. Original Story: Hitman 3 launches today, and thanks to a shared progression system, players can transfer their Hitman 2 progress directly into the new game, unlocking Hitman 3 achievements, and getting access to their weapons and Mastery Level progress from Hitman 2. Although IOI hasn't given an update on the server fixes today, it seems that many of you have now been able to transfer your progress, so if you still haven't imported yours yet, it might be worth trying to do so now. The developer tweeted yesterday that it was working on fixing server issues that were stopping players from transferring their Hitman 2 progress into Hitman 3. Unfortunately, you seem to be one of them, and if none of the other solutions worked then all we can recommend is contacting Hitman 3 player support. ![]() Hitman 3 is a wonderful game that most players enjoyed, but this issue is something that has bothered many people. After that’s done, all players have to do is try the transfer again. So, make sure that both the latest Hitman games are downloaded on your device, and log into your IO account in both. Without this, it’ll fail and you won’t be able to carry progression over. One thing to keep in mind is that Hitman 2 and 3 will both require your IO account to log in for the transfer to work. But, if there aren’t any, here are some other things you can try. If there are server problems, then all you can do is trust the developers to fix them soon. So, it’s best to wait for a little bit and look around the internet to see if other players are having issues too. If that’s the case, you’ll have a hard time getting the transfer to work. This might not be what you want to hear, but it could just be that IO’s servers are currently faulty. So, if you’re on Nintendo Switch, there isn’t anything you can do if you played Hitman 2 on a different platform. Because of that, there’s no carryover option for players on the platform. Just to clear things up before we get started, Hitman 3 is the only Hitman game from the new trilogy that’s on the Switch. What To Do If Progression Transfer Is Not Working In Hitman 3 But, if the transfer is not working for you Hitman 2 to 3, here’s what you should do.
